Xanaqin: (Ahlam Mansur for March 8) campaign announced

In the campaign, which contains a list of demands, the activists demand the elimination of anti-women beliefs, the social and religious calls against women via mosques and social mediums, and taking legal actions against those who call for violence against women.

Ahlam Mansur for March 8:
We condemn male chauvinism dissemination against girls and women
Many women and girl face these forms of violence in their daily lives:
First: daily physical and mental torture (swearing, phone calls)
Second: violence, fear and threatening
Third: forced tribal marriage, direct or indirect forced marriage and child marriage (under 16).
Fourth: banning sexual desires
Fifth: threatening women through distribution images and videos, and implementing the threats
Sixth: poverty
Seventh: violation of marriage decision right
Eighth: violation of freedom
This situation led to:
1.            Forcing them to have banned sex with close Degrees of Consanguinity
2.            Forcing them to choking and burning  themselves
3.            Increasing the rate of divorce
4.            Child abandonment
5.            Secret marriage
6.            Prostitution
7.            Increase the rate of spinsterhood
8.            Depression, boredom and pessimism
9.            Infidelity in marriage
10.          Mothers and fathers do not know their real feelings
11.          Schizophrenia disease
We cannot accept this terrible and inhuman situation and we demand the following to change it:
First:  men should stop physical and mental torture of their spouses, sisters and daughters.
Second: Government should give allowance to homemakers (girls and women)
Third: implementing the decision of establishing a bureau to trace violence in Xanaqin and Kfre.
Fourth: men should show respect to women and girls, and stop direct or indirect forced marriage.
Fifth: directorates of trace violence should first provide all the humanly and mental needs to the survivors then take care of the bureaucratic routines.
Sixth: banning and eliminating religious marriage for those who are under 16, treat it as sexual assault and punish the responsible ones.
Seventh: girls should be free to decide to marry
Eighth: elimination of anti-women beliefs, the social and religious calls against women via mosques and social mediums, and taking legal actions against those who call for violence against women.
Ninth: improving the life conditions in the shelters, and open these shelters in Garmian area.
Tenth: elimination of tribal, social clubs and political parties’ interference in violence cases against women.
Eleventh: transparent and fair trail of those people who murder with the excuse of honor.
Twelfth: Government should act as the primary responsible party for the rights and lives of women, and should not be ignorant in solving their issues.
Thirteenth: we demand to announce the results of the investigation that was done by the government on 16 year old (Nigar Rahimi)’s case, and has not announced the results to public until now.
Fourteenth: marriage process outside the law should be banned, those Mullahs who overseen the marriage of children under the age of 16 should be punished.
Fifteenth: building a monument for Miss Ahlam in Xanaqin, as a symbol of free woman
Freedom of personality, conscious, destiny, mentality and intelligence of girls and women.
